Alternate Work Schedule Sleep Disorders Affect Many Shift Workers
If you have trouble sleeping and work a job that has you working a shift schedule, you could suffer from alternate work schedule sleep disorder. Alternate work schedule sleep disorder is when you are unable to sleep because of the odd hours that you work. This usually affects people that work in warehouses, hospitals, and any other job where you can often find yourself awake at night and trying to sleep during the day. You may think it will go away after a while, and it might, but if you suffer from alternate work schedule sleep disorder, it’s best to see your doctor so that you can get help before your lack of sleep begins to affect your job. Your doctor may be able to give you some kind of medication to help you sleep, or at least may give you some tricks to help you get some much needed Z’s so that you can perform adequately during those hours in which you are awake.
