What about brainwave entrainment? It's a fairly new way to cure insomnia that worked wonders for me when nothing else would. It's basically ambient music that brings about the right brainwaves for a desired effect-in this case, falling asleep, although there are recordings for meditation, motivations, etc. I had horrible insomnia that I thought I would never get over but this did the trick, and it isn't something you keep needing forever like pills. It eventually re-trains you to sleep. There's a great piece on it at http://nomoreinsomnia.blogspot.com
